[mjuː'zɪəm əv 'mɔdən ɑːt], Abkürzung MOMA [eməʊem'eɪ], New York, 1929 durch fünf Sammler gegründet; Kultur- und Studienzentrum mit Sammlung moderner Malerei, Plastik und Grafik seit 1880, Sektionen für Architektur, Industriedesign, Fotografie und Film; Stiftungen ermöglichten 1939 den Neubau von E. D. Stone u. a., 1964 durch Anbauten von P. C. Johnson erweitert. Der 2001 begonnene Umbau des MOMA (Sieger des Architekturwettbewerbs von 1997 ist der Japaner Tanigushi Yoshio) soll 2003/04 beendet sein.
